A letter from our founder on why Fix-My-Stay exists.

When something goes wrong during your stay, you shouldn't have to start over.

I'm the founder of Fix-My-Stay, and I built this service because I needed it.

I travel frequently and often stay for weeks at a time. Like many people today, I don't just travel to sleep — I travel to live and work. That means reliable Wi-Fi, a usable workspace, a comfortable room, and basic functionality.

On a recent month-long stay in Spain, nearly everything that could go wrong eventually did.

A monitor broke in transit.

The heating system failed.

One apartment became unlivable.

Another shut off heat overnight.

Stoves stopped working.

Wi-Fi was unreliable.

There was no desk or proper chair.

The bedding made sleeping difficult.

None of this was anyone's fault. But the result was constant disruption, stress, wasted time, and unnecessary expense.

I found myself buying things I didn't want to own, couldn't transport home, and would soon have to discard — simply to make a temporary stay workable.

That's when it became obvious: There should be an easier way.
